Location Clock-In/Out Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Location Clock-In/Out iOS app (Bundle ID: com.charles.ClockIn). It explains how the app, iOS location and notification services, and map services handle information related to reminders.
2. Location data
With your permission, the app obtains your current location while it is in the foreground to show your position on the map, select work locations, refresh your position, and reconcile map coordinates with system location coordinates. The app does not continuously record a location trail and stops its active high-accuracy location updates when it enters the background.
When you enable an arrival or departure reminder, the app registers the selected area's center, radius, and direction with iOS. iOS monitors the area and delivers the local notification. The system may use location information for registered areas even when the app is not in the foreground. Timing and accuracy depend on your device, settings, and surroundings.
You can manage location access and Precise Location in iPhone Settings. Denying location access affects the current-location display, place selection, and area reminders.
3. Data saved on your device
To provide reminders, the app stores:
- Work location names, coordinates, reminder radii, and arrival/departure reminder settings;
- Your selected time clock app and its opening method, if any;
- Map-to-system coordinate calibration settings;
- Observable reminder delivery and tap history, including location name, clock-in or clock-out reminder type, and time.
The app does not upload this data to the developer's servers or use it for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking. iOS may include app data in device backups according to your backup settings.
4. Maps and nearby places
The app uses Apple MapKit to display maps, search for places, and suggest nearby place names. Apple and its map-service providers process map, search, and geocoding requests. In mainland China, Apple's maps may be supported by Amap. Their own privacy notices govern that processing. Editing a place name does not change its saved coordinates.
See Apple Maps & Privacy.
5. Notifications and time clock apps
The app uses iOS local notifications, rather than developer-server push notifications, to show the place name and reminder. If you select a time clock app, the notification names it; tapping the notification makes Location Clock-In/Out attempt to open it. The app does not pass your live location or saved place coordinates as parameters to that app. The target app's own privacy policy applies after it opens.
The app saves reminder history locally when a notification arrives while the app is in the foreground, when you tap it, or when the app later finds it still present in Notification Center. A notification that was dismissed without being tapped may not be recoverable. History reflects reminders and taps, not a completed clock-in or clock-out.
You can disable arrival or departure reminders in the app or disable notifications in iPhone Settings. If notifications are disabled, reminders cannot be displayed normally.
6. Retention and deletion
You can edit or delete work locations and disable registered reminders in the app. Deleting a location does not delete its existing reminder history. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local settings and reminder history; older copies may remain in device backups, depending on your backup settings. The developer does not store your in-app settings or reminder history on a server.
7. Website access logs
When you visit this policy page, the website server may generate ordinary access logs, such as request time, IP address, browser information, and page path, for operation and security. The page cannot read the work locations or location data saved in the app.
8. Children's privacy
The app has no accounts, social features, ads, or targeted recommendations and does not actively collect children's personal information. A parent or guardian should manage location and notification permissions when a child uses the app.
9. Updates and contact
If our data practices change, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. For questions, email 1198040298@qq.com.
